I wrote this poem after watching "Slumdog Millionaire" tonight:
"Makes the Heart Sick"
Things are not what they should be.
Nor what they once were.
Brokenness and pain,
So many innocent are slain.
Disregard for precious life,
ignorance of the saving-everlasting.
The justice ones are overdue,
from our souls' hopes they're fasting.
Reluctantly we watch the darkness binge,
the blackened hearts are just the start.
A grinding cycle gets ever stronger,
Cutting flesh, burning eyes, searing thoughts.
Cries of young ones, heard by none?
Heard by One. Heard by One.
Things are not what they should be.
Or what they're going to be.
Though justice rain won't fall today...
Someday.
